Artist Statement
Now, as we begin semester 2, it is time for us to consider how we will present our work to an audience. An important aspect of this is to write a short statement that enables the viewer to know a little about your artistic concerns, what your artistic intentions are, and what you consider important about your work. We will be looking at different artist's statements in class and deciding what qualities a good one has...... and what qualities bad ones have.......
Below are some links to web resources that contian a variety of artists statements.

Process of Analysis and Prep for Souk Trip
Analysis continued
Now you have analysed one piece of Art successfully it is time to apply it to a piece that you have some choice over. The skills used when analysing art work are the same you use in other subjects, the difference being you can show some of your understanding in visual form.
I would like you to now choose an artwork from one of the resources posted below and analyse using the same 'headings' as we used for the Picasso analysis. The difference being that this time I would like you submit your analysis via your website ( you may make it on a large sheet of paper and then photograph it, make it as a Photoshop document, or a PPT slide, or simply as a new page of your website.)
We are particularly interested in what artists choose to communicate and how they do this.
We must also discuss -

Art Analysis and transferable skills
We are going to use the resources here to analyse some artwork - if we do this right it will be enjoyable...... remember you already have well developed analytical skills from your experiences in other courses. Analysis is about noting what we see as being parts of something and thinking about what this means.
