For the last unit of the year you will be asked to supply the concept for the starting point. I will provide you with a step by step process to ensure you can sustain and then resolve your inquiry. I have posted an example pf what this might look like below as a ppt. You will see the starting point for my inquiry was 'Beauty and Decay", this was the stimulus given to this year's grade 10's so you will be able to look at their websites to see how they undertook the same process. Their sites are linked to their class page just like yours, just click on the Grade 10 page above and you will find buttons for their individual sites.
The six Step process is simple:
1. MindMap - put your starting point in the centre and note every idea you associate with it.
2. Connection - investigate artists/thinkers/phenomena related to your theme/concept. Analyse their work and find out what you can 'steal' from them. ( "Bad artists copy, good artists steal' Picasso).
3, Observation - your project must have some grounding in your own experience of the real world, either through something you can see or have seen firsthand, of have experienced. This must be documented.
4.Development/experimentation - you need to show a process of skill development and acquisition. You must document how you master the media you will use.
5. Draft - in this version you are getting closer to what the finished product will look like. At this stage you should be able to write your intentions quite clearly..
6. Finished Art work - this should be a natural outcome from your preparation. Once complete you will consider what went well using your statement of intent to judge this, you can also comment on how you think it could be improved. This phase also includes making the piece ready to display.
By following this structure and posting each stage on the page for this unit on your website you will ensure you have addressed all four criteria. Time management is important here to make sure you have enough time to complete the whole creative journey.

Creativity
Creativity is a hard thing to quantify - this text is from an IB workshop and gives some possible wasy we might show creativity, it borrows from Edward De Bono's research:
What is Creativity?
Ideational fluency........the ability to generate many different ideas. Possibility thinking......the ability to see many ways of doing things. Scenario thinking........the ability to conceive of a range of future possibilities.
Combinational ability...the ability to see relationships among seemingly unrelated objects or ideas. Provocation skill..........the ability and will to challenge traditional ways of thinking or doing things. Disruptive tendency.....the ability to disassemble familiar ways of doing things and reassemble them in new ways.
Paradigm flexibility......the ability to change one’s frame of reference from prevailing ideas and beliefs.
Reference: de Bono, Edward (1992) Serious creativity: Using the power of lateral thinking to create new ideas. New York, Harper Business
