Our next unit will be focused on deepening our understanding and use of colour. You will be building on skills you have developed in unit 1, but extending them with a deeper understanding of colour theory, and also developing some relief sculpture skills.

Tasks to complete
1. The hue, tint/shade and intensity wheels need to be finished as per the example posted here.
2. Most of you started the next piece of work which is a continuous line drawing (sort of) that provides us with an image that you can show your understanding of hue, tint/shade, and intensity with. Each line you draw must start and finish at an edge. Once you have a good amount of interesting overlapping shapes you can begin to paint. The rule is that at least one edge of each shape must touch the opposite hue. For instance if you paint a shape with hue number 7, with an intensity of 6, you must use your hue wheel to find out the opposite hue and then paint this as an adjoining shape in the same intensity. If you are stuck ask a classmate who has started.

3. If you finish your 'opposites' piece you can choose one of the Omani doorways from the photographs below and try your first painting of it. I have left some paper for you. Draw the doorway first and then use your 'wheels' to decide how to mix the right colours.
