SMART targets for Reports
We need to have two SMART targets for your November report. The procedure is that, in agreement with me, two SMART targets are written, these are entered into the report ( along with ATL judgments). your Learning Mentor ( Advisor/homeroom teacher) then writes a overview report about all your school work.
We will use a google doc I have shared with you to collect and collate your targets.
They can be simple, or complex, but should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time based.
I will then discuss and agree/edit these with you before they are entered onto the report.
Below you will find a rubric that will help you identify areas that you think you could make targets for improvement, and a link to a site about SMART goals.

Approaches To Learning
You often come across the phrase 'transferable skills' in education and in the workplace - what does this mean?
In the framework of the IB Approaches to Learning under the heading Thinking we also find 'Transfer".
We are going to start by thinking which skills or ideas we come across in school are 'transferable'.
Then we will be starting our first (guided) analysis of an art work.
It is important that you use this experience to ensure you know what is expected in terms of breadth/depth with your art analysis, and level of critical thinking. You will be undertaking an individual analysis next..........

How do we 'get' ideas - thinking about thinking
Task 1:
- 3 short imaginative drawing/writing tasks - airline passengers, ABA after dark, 4 line poem. Be conscious of how your solutions to these tasks enters your mind.
- Your task is to write about what happens ,for you personally, when you have an idea. What is it like from the moment you are given a creative task to when you have a solution? Do ideas appear gradually or pop into your head fully formed? You have to try and explain how your own mind works - not easy I know - but very useful as we can then talk about how to accelerate this process and increase your capacity for idea making!
- There are some interesting questions about originality that come out of this line of thinking. Are we an amalgamation of everything we have ever experienced? Is everything a remix? Add your own thoughts about this idea to your writing about your personal experience of idea creation.
Summative Rubric
Below is the rubric I will use to mark your work for this unit. I will look at all of your work but will only that which is posted on your website. Make sure your webpages for this unit are easy to navigate and include all the things asked for on the rubric. You may add to things already posted.
